what position to lock rear balance shaft?

I read my Honda Helms manual but its not really clear on what position the dot on the rear balance shaft should be at.

I found an appropriately sized allen wrench to slide in the access hole, and it slides in, BUT, I can slide it in multiple locations. So I have no clue which location "locks" the balance shaft in place.

Does it matter if the balance shaft is locked in the 5-6 O'clock position or the 10-11 O'clock position? because I can fully insert the allen wrench the required 2.914" or 74mm in both spots.

This is for the F22 engine

Without digging out my manual, get a bolt that is the recommended diameter, it will only fit in one of the holes. Try the next larger size allen wrench or a phillips screwdriver, keep going up in size until it only fits one hole.

yeah i figured it out, I just locked it in the 5 O'clock position after reading a couple more threads about people recommending this spot...the Tbelt job is done and car's running perfectly in time....only took 7 hrs start to finish lol at a total cost of 37 dollars for both Gates balance shaft belt and Timing belt.

Didn't do the water pump while you were in there?

na it seemed fine, plus it was another 60 bucks for the waterpump. Plus It had a Honda Timing Belt and Balance belt in there which looked like it had minimal wear on it, I couldn't see any major cracking or wear on the teeth at all, but I just replaced them because they could've been really old and didn't want to risk a snapped T-belt. I inspected the weep holes of the water pump and they were dry. If the water pump were to fail, you'd still have time to shut the car off right? all it'd do is get hot so I could monitor the temp gauge
