Having trouble getting up to speed.

Hello, I own a 93 prelude si auto with an h22

Im having trouble getting up to speed, it happens when I try to speed up to enter the highway. It speeds fine up until around 35 mph then the cars feels very heavy and super slow to get to like 45 mph. After it hits 45 mph the car then accelarates fine. The car has no issuse iddling or anything besides this. Could it be that the throtle cable has to be adjusted?

    thank for the help.

It sounds like an o2 sensor problem to me. My car did exactly that until I swapped my ECU map out with one that disabled the o2 sensor... no more problem (of course, that was a temporary diagnostic fix... I will be replacing the o2 sensor and running my original tune.)

Just remember, Denso or NTK/NGK. No Bosch.

My CRX did the same thing until I fixed the o2.

At least your prelude doesn't piss fluid out of the torque converter like mine does!

Well it sounds like my 02 sensor,

I extended the wires on the sensor because the person who sold me the engine gave me a 5th gen prelude downpipe which is shorter than the 4th gen so I extended it 9 inches and thats why I had to extended, maybe thats what damaged the 02 sensor

That, or the o2 sensor is just old and worn out... OR, if you were running rich for any reason (ignition troubles, perhaps) it got fouled.

Though yes, extending the wires CAN cause a change in resistance, which would cause an improper reading to the ECU. If it's bad enough, you'll experience problems. I hope you extended the wires on the sensor, and not the wires on your car...

Yea I extended the wires on the sensor not the harness, but I dout its an ignition probles since it iddles fine
