I have had the dreaded idle surge at start up since I got the car (2+ years) and I think I may have finally figured out what my issue is. I was reading a post on here somewhere that said try blocking the two holes in the TB just before the plate to see if that helps. When I plug the upper hole my idle drops to normal and stops surging but now I cant find the post where I got that info and I need to know what this means.

Idle surging at cold start

I figured it out. The upper hole is for the FITV. I pulled and cleaned it not to long ago but it had no impact on the idle surge. After a little more research I found that it was supposed to be tightened down when it was hot so I ran the car for a little while, went for a drive and then after a few high rpm pulls I pulled over, unscrewed the top cover for FITV and screwed it down clockwise until it could not go any tighter. Started it this morning and the pulse rev was gone for the first time in 2 years. Hopefully someone else will find this info useful and put a stop to their pulse rev.

It is on the front of the upper intake next to the idle air control valve. It is supposed to be tightened when its hot so run the car until it reaches normal operating temp, shut the car off, take the two Phillips screws out of the top of the FITV (throttle cable is in the way just push it aside), now I used my extended needle nose pliers and opened them up so that one tip was on each side of the wax ball and proceeded to turn clockwise until it was as tight as it would go.
