    HVAC does not function

Hey guys here is my issue, My hvac fan on my 93 cb7 dx is working inermitenly. Some times it does not work at all. When The car is on and my engine is running, the fan will sometimes work. When I turn the car off the fan just cuts out and dies. I have also noticed that all of my hvac control lights are not functional. I have checked my fuses and nothing is tripped. I also understand that the lights are on there own circut, and I have been driving my car for 2.5 years withe the left side lights out on my console. When the fan runs I am able to control the fan speed, but it does seem like a weak air current on the strongest setting, I have never ripped out my dash, but I am verry mechaniclay inclined and I have a good knoledge of electronics, I have replaced a lot of parts on my car including the most recent a motoer swap by myself.

    What Im asking is

What are my symptomes pointing to?

How hard is it going to be to rip out the dash and HVAC console?

Can I drive with my dash appart? (this is my daily and my only car)

If it ends up being my blower how difficult is that to replace?

    Thank you

yeah its most likely your blower motor thats taking a duke. There's a chance that its the resistor, but in the two that I replaced, the brushes were mostly worn out and the commutator looked burnt and not copper colored and shiny like its supposed to be.

It takes about an hour or so to remove the blower motor your first time, but I did it as quick as 20 min when I knew what I was doing the second time around.

You're going to have to remove your carpeting and possibly the ECU and TCU if you have an Automatic car in order to get that bulky box out from underneath the dash. You might also need to unbolt the dash on the side and lift up on it very slightly to give yourself more clearance. Either way, just be patient with it sometimes you might have to rotate it and it'll come out.

It is fine to drive around w/o that box and fans/motor installed. It won't affect anything, just you won't have any air obviously.

The blower motor itself isn't that difficult to replace, I bought a new one for my car about a year ago from Autozone (SIEMENS brand) and it cost about 107 with lifetime warranty.

On a slightly related note without making a new topic, my car blows cold air and the AC works, but I have no heat. I have a new t-stat and flushed cooling system.

As for removing the HVAC controls from the dash, you must remove the centre console, the entire dash surround and then unscrew the 4 screws that hold the HVAC controls in place. Unclip the 2 plugs and the cable attached to it.

no heat is a heater core issue it is a valve that allows coolant to run into your cabin and that is what gives you heat in a way

Would a clogged radiator have something to do with that? I get little to no pressure in my lower hose, even after bleeding the system.
