    changing water pump

is it really hard (on a scale of 1 to 10) to change the water pump? do i need top adjust the timing afterwards? i was reading my haynes and it didnt mention anything about checking the timing afterwards.

You might have to mess with the timing, depending on whether or not you have to take the belt off the get under the cover for the water pump, which you probably will. On a side note, if you need one, I have one for sale.

one way is that if coolant is coming from behind the timing belt cover or if ur overheats in idle.

ohh so if u got coolant leaking from that cover then the whole water pump is bad? not just the gasket?
                  I Ain't cocky,I'm confident.And when u say im the best it's a compliment.!

On the water pump itself, there is a wear indicator called a "Weep Hole." This was designed to relieve pressure when the pump is not operating at its potenial. The result is a leaking pump. Water/coolant will drip from the back side of motor, behind the timing belt cover.

to add to this the only way to really see if its the gasket or the waterpump itself is to take the timing cover off (bottom half)

if you have coolant seepage from that portion of the timing cover or from the water pump weep passage you have to most likely replace your water pump. you have to basically take off all your belts like drive belts t belt and your balancer shaft belt. remember to time your cam crank and your balaner shaft marks... good luck!

the balancer shaft mark is on top of the shaft that comes out from the left side of a small pulley from on the left. there is a mark on the block. also you have to take a small bolt on the back of the block and put a long skinnier bolt to keep the oil drive gear inplace. theres more to it too but if you dont have a clue what im talking about?? i am willing to tell more.....
