Make radio stay on untill you open the door.

Ok I did not know how to search for this so I decided to make a thread.

I want to know if its possible to wire the stereo to stay on when you turn the ignition off until you open the door.

Just like you can still put the windows up and down until you open the door.(Which I think is pretty awesome considering most cars dont have that)

Has someone tried this yet or have any thoughts if its possible?

The windows are on a timer. Not sure how long it is though.
    Couldn't you wire to that?

Thats what I was wondering. I have no idea where the timer and all that is though i haven't looked that deep into it. Thats why I was wondering if anyone has done it already.

You could do it easily enough using a latching relay.

A "Finished" project car is never finished until its been sold.

If at first you don't succeed, Try again. Don't give up too easily, persistance pays off in the end.

The power window timer circuit module is part of the ICU in the under dash fuse relay box. The wire that goes to the window relay from the timer is WHT/RED.

If you want to tap into that module for the use of the timer output. You will need to run it as the switch source to a new relay.

Do you have much experience with electrical circuits and how relays work?

                    thanks for that schematic.

My last car had the stock radio stay on until you opened door and that was one little thing I missed when I "downgraded" to my honda. I'll definitely give this a go
