Battery is dead after leaving door open....question

I left my door cracked and there is that little light on the door that was the only thing working off the batter b/c the dome light was turned offf. So how long do you think that took to drain my battery? I dont remember when i drove it last so i am afraid that my alternator went out again.

Totally depends how long it took to drain the battery. Jump start the car, and see if it keeps charge.

If it didn't take long to drain the battery, then the batt was old or low. If your alt's out then expect the batt light on the dash to be lit up.

man just take your battery to autozone/o'reillys or some other auto place and have them check the battery, if the battery is still good they can just recharge it. and i wouldnt think the alternator would go out i fyou just left the door open. And like ACCORD said the battery light will stay on if the alternator is bad.
