    DX/LX have 185 tires and EX/SE have 195 tires.

DX and LX ask for 185 70 14 tires and EX&SE ask for 195 60 15. The 195 is a taller tire then the 185 so how does the car know the difference as far as the speedo. ?

I highly doubt there is a change in the speed sensor. P185/70/14 has a slightly taller sidewall that compensates for the one-inch-smaller inside diameter. As a result, the resulting revolutions/mile is nearly identical to that of the P195/60/15 tire size.

                  What the fuck

The wheel is a 15 inch wheel thats why

Smaller sidewall on a larger wheel = the same as larger sidewall on a smaller wheel

                  185/70 so 70% of 185mm is 129.5mm sidewall height
                  195/60 so 60% of 195mm is 117mm sidewall height

                  129.5mm is 5.09 inches
                  117mm is 4.60 inches

                  5.09 + 14 inch wheel = 19.09 overall diameter
                  4.60 inches + 15 inch wheel = 19.6 overall diameter

See how similar they are overall?

                  Damn alot of misinformation here

The 185 and 195 are indicative of the width of the tire, not the height.

The second number (70 and 60) is the height (actually, it's the aspect ratio, which takes into account width and wheel diameter.... but that's getting more involved.)

The overall wheel/tire diameter may be slightly different between the steelies and the alloys, which may be the reason for the different VSS part numbers. The difference would be negligible, though... if there is one at all.

That's probably because there are 2 types of VSS but they function the same. One has a direct plug in that was commonly found on the AT, and the other kind with a harness and plug on the top (more clearance for the MT shifter cables). I think around 92 or 93, all the Accords used the harness and plug style.

Anyways, like mentioned, the actual diameter is the same between the tires. It may be wider, but lower profile ending up being the same.

You probably increased the overall diameter, making your speedo read slow.

I've had slightly smaller tires on my fit (40 instead of 45), and my speedo reads faster... it helps keep me from speeding When I think I'm going 70mph, I'm really still going around 65!

I thot because I have 215-45-17 that means I have a 17" rim and my overall tire height is 215 and my with is 45.
My old tires where 205-45-17 and they where not as tall as my 215.
Is the 215 number how tall the sidewall is is what you are saying not the whole wheel right tippey?

This shit confuses me, I know if a tire is 45 wide its wider then a stock 60 or 70. So it's in reverse?
                              Are we going in mm?
Another thot in japan since they use metric do the people there buy there tires and rims in inches like us or what?
