its not really as crucial a part to the car though as the front upper control arms w/ balljoints and the front lower balljoints is it?

        You're kidding, right?

        Can cause as much damage.

          never....

it will cause damage but not as MUCH, losi remove the RUCA look at it touch it, and then judge it

my point is, if im not going to replace it with a better part or a new one, just leave it alone

Damage is damage and the longer you drive in that condition the worse it becomes.

Maybe Honda should have just eliminated that useless part then...

its called comparison my friend, its not the same

also, there are thousands of CB's that go to the JY with 1990-1993 RUCA
out of those thousands 200 have changed the front ones

again comparison, in the end its safer to replace

it could lead to an accident...THAT is all that matters.

You could have a front ball joint or tie rod go out and not wreck...but it's pretty likely.

Now a rear control arm/ball joint going out...yes it too can cause a wreck...it may be slightly less likely to cause you to wreck but it is still VERY likely to be able to.

let's not argue semantics too much...both right...both wrong.

I replaced the ones on my old 92 Coupe first thing after buying it. They were not all that bad but had some looseness to the joint.

Later I lowered the car and replaced with an early SPC arm. Although the arm is still fully intact. The inner bushing has dissolved.

My 91 SE, I bought in February this year needs ALL uppers and could use new lower ball joints (loose not floppy). I've just been to busy switching parts off the 92 ONTO the 91, Doing the top end re-build, and hunting for the most annoying squeak I've ever hunted for!

HOWEVER! I'd point out that IF you closely look at all the CB's that you pass on the road. You'll quickly notice a good number have a BUMP just above the rear wheel well (as does my 92 LX). This outward DENT (Not the rust bump you sometimes see), is where the Knuckle (where the arm's ball joint attaches) separated! Once the arm was no longer attached to the knuckle, that knuckle swung out and BASHED the inner wheel well, making that bump/ reverse dent.

Thus, obviously it needs replacing sometimes. If you feel any looseness in that upper rear ball joint. REPLACE THE ARM!!
