    Driver Door Won't Open

It opens but not all the way. Basically it looks like some hinge thing in the middle of the bottom and top door hinge is damaged. Then there is the obvious door damage.

This is the hinge I am talking about:

    Damaged area looks like this:

    1) Is this door repairable? Probably not worth keeping but I'd rather keep this door.
    2) What is the middle crushed "latch" called?
    3) How can I suck or bang the slightly crushed in area of the door out back with the rest of the door?
    4) Side question: What is the random plastic cylinder like can on the side of the car? (Last picture circled in red) It connects to some lines not sure what it is.

1)A good bodyman can probably get that back into shape. But if you are doing it yourself without much experience, it may end up worse than before. I would take the whole door off and work on it so you have room to knock the dent on the edge out.

2)I'm not sure what middle hinge you are talking about since I don't see anything in the pic except the door harness and a bent piece of metal.... but I'm gonna assume you mean the door checker which is what holds the door partially open and full open. It's held on the door side by 2 10mm bolts and on the frame side by a pin.

3)Hammer. Or if you don't want to take the door off, you might be able to get away with using a pipe in between the door and frame and pry it out a bit. But this is almost certain to scratch up your paint even more or dent your frame side.

4)There might have been a vacuum cylinder for cruise control in that area but I can't remember. Some one else will have to chime in there.

      1) Yeah the "door checker" does anyone know the real mechanical name for it? Thanks though on how it's mounted!

      2) Shit I wanted to keep cruise, can anyone else confirmed? It's destroyed obviously.

      3) Does anyone here know anything about door repair like this?

You can buy a complete cb7 for under $500... You should be able to source out a door for $50... It will save you alot of time / hassle...

1)Door checker is what Honda calls it on their parts list.

2)For the black thing, I'm probably going to the wreckers tomorrow so if I have time or see a cb with no fender, I'll take a look for you to confirm what it is. I can't find it on the parts catalogue.

Just came back from the jy. The black thing is definetly for the cruise control. It has one vacuum line that comes from the engine bay. No other plugs and is held on by 1 10mm bolt. Super easy to take out once you get the fender liner out of the way and I'm sure your local jy would sell it cheap. Same goes for the door checker.
