weird noise from intake

I just got done installing my walbro fuel pump and went to start my car to test it and it starts up and runs fine but when you go to throttle it up quick, it almost has a backfire sound that comes from the intake where the air comes in the filter. It has never done this at all and has run and accelerated perfect since i rebuilt the engine. It almost bogs at the same time.

I dont really think it has anything to do with the fuel pump install, just a coincidence i think and i do know its very very low on gas to, but dont think that has anything to do with it either or it would bog while idling. just throwing all this info out there to get some ideas of what it could be, i didnt really get much time at the garage to mess with before i left. kinda weird.Thanks....

Check fuel pressure.

my timing was off when it started backfiring out the intake

Ill check that when i go back over there. As far as the timing, its never done that and its always been good and it hasnt been touched. Thats what i kinda thought it sounded like. Ill check the fuel pressure when i go back. thanks....

I put some high octane, well just 93. lol and reset everything and it started and runs beautiful. like a champ. thanks for the info from the very few that commented. lol I guess it was just low on gas and when i reved it up, it just boged and made that weird backfire out of the intake. good to go now. thanks...

usually if it is back firing through the intake and everything like timing and such is right it is running lean.
