I'm looking at doing a rebuild of my F22a1 this summer, the block is in great shape and compression is like the motor is new, just i'm getting a few oil leaks and tranny oil leaks. not major leaks, but leaks none the less. So I figured I'd get a complete gasket kit for the motor and tranny. since my compression is still good I figured that a re-ring wouldn't be necessary, but i may do it since i'll have the head off to change the head gasket. for the cyl head I was looking at getting a rebuilt one without the cam so I can put my own in.
as far as tuning goes I'm planning on staying NA and not trying to excede 250hp MAX when i finish. i'm not trying to get any major gains just by doing a rebuild but as like an end goal after i do everything i'd like to. Should I look at new piston rods or will the stock ones be alright?
I'm just wondering what are some good brands to look at and are there any other parts I should look out for during the rebuild? thanks!
