Im going to just say it will pass, that ECU was designed for the prelude which has the SAME engine and is designed to pass the same emissions. No one will know you have a p12 anyways because your car runs perfectly stock with it ( because its a stock ECU )

ALso i thought your motor replaced with an f22a6?

its a hassle to remove 2 plugs? are you not mechanically inclined? because you don't need to be, just pull up the carpet and undo them....how difficult is that?

            Be realistic

its more then just 2 plugs

removing the small kick panel peice which is annoying due to clips

            Pulling back carpet

removing multiple bolts for the metal cover

Wrestling with stuck plugs to remove the panel then unbolt more plugs

To properly do it without messing anything else up is quite a bit of a hassle IMO, somthing simple that is annoying.

Besides the point because it should pass IMO

If it's a Cali-spec P12, then it will work fine. I'm sure they sold the Prelude S in California.

wow, removing clips that snap in and pulling carpet isn't difficult. But I was just going off of my car, I did away with the metal bracket, just have the ECU nicely sitting there under the carpeting w/ the thick insulation. So it takes a max of maybe a min and a half to swap ECUs.

                  i love deeve

                  it is a damn hassle

getting to the damn boxes are no sweat
but the sweat comes when you gotta wrestle the damn metal frame and unplug the damn wires.

took me an hour with fucked up fingers (unplugging the damn wires)

and the damn p12 box wont fit. its too damn big. and the secure bolts are not in the freaking same positions. who ever said plug and play was wrong. i did not screw the ecu back to the frame. i tied it with string.

i cannot screw the frame back onto the chasis fully. i just left it with two holes screwed but the 2 bottom ones unscrewed. the wiring harnesses somehow made the metal frame not fit anymore. fudge!!!!!

It's plug and play... just not screw and play

My P28 fits much the same way. It's just stuffed under there. For a while, I didn't even have the cage installed... just the ECU under the carpet (with the lid held on by the center screw only... I was swapping chips frequently for a while.) I got too nervous with my friends and their oafy feet in my passenger seat, so I reinstalled the plate.

the cd5 ecu is also as big as the p12, i have p12 pt6 and the cd5 b2 one but if you use the bracket from a cd5 it should bolt up imma go try it later n i just realized this threads kinda old but already wrote it so
