    92 engine in diff year?

    I got this 92 f22 engine from an EX and I want to know if it fits in the 94 to 97 year accord and if it does are do you have to do any modifications in the engine bay.

      it should fit no problem but if the engine is a 5 spd you may need to do something with the tranny mount like drill it or get a new one.

      Look for H22 swaps and do everything but the vtec. also check out accord tuenr and the 5th gen section.

        NTM, 96+ is OBD 2, so that might be a problem.

          hmmm..........so it could work fine if I just dropped it in a 94 to 95 accord. The engine only has 46k miles on it and its in a cb7 presently but its gonna cost too much money to fix it.

            Keep in mind that in some states its illegal to put an older engine into a newer car.

                Yes. Its the F22 that was in the EX went into the newer LX. A very astute observation. Gold star for you.

                  Lets clear this up a bit;

                  90-93 DX/LX - F22A1
                  90/91 EX - F22A4
                  92/93 EX and 91/93 SE - F22A6
                  94-97 DX/LX/SE - F22B2
                  94-97 EX - F22B1 (VTEC)
                  95-97 V6 - C27A4

                  So, although putting a 90-93 engine in a 94/95 can be done, it is not a direct swap, there will be differnces in emissions controls, electrical, etc. Best thing to do is to find a 94/95 enigine to put in your 94/95 Accord.
