CEL on checked code and got 3-1

I put a Megan Racing header on and a 2.5" catback system. as i am driving away to hear how it sounds the CEL came on. I have the F22A6 motor and i did the diag and checked the code and it came up with 3-1. I've looked for this code identification on the internet and on cb7tuner but haven't really got anything solid. I have seen code 31 which makes sense but i hope it isn't being my A/T shifts just fine at all RPM's. If i've seen what i think i hope it is for the MAP signal. input would be greatly appreciated being i am 4 months over due for an inspection sticker.

If it is indeed code 31, that doesn't necessarily mean the transmission isn't shifting properly. The ECU's concern is with the engine... so whatever feedback that the ECU needs from the transmission to run the engine properly may not be coming through.

Ok So since it is a signal problem then do i need to re-prgram the ECU or just unplug the neg. battery cable see if it works or what. I will do some research and find out things i can do in the meantime feel free to post.

You cannot re-program the ECU. It is telling you that there is an issue with another component, which means the ECU is most likely functioning exactly as it should be. The problem isn't the ECU, it is the "automatic transmission B signal"... which I can find absolutely no information about, unfortunately. I have very little experience with automatic CBs, so I can't offer much help.

Go over your transmission and make sure all plugs are secure. Make sure all connections are clean, and all wires are in good condition. If this problem started after the exhaust install, chances are good that you bumped something in the process. Possibly knocked a plug loose. The exhaust itself should have no bearing on the CEL whatsoever. There are no sensors after the o2 sensor, which is located before the catalytic converter.

But yes... try resetting the ECU first. Either pull your "backup/radio" fuse for a few minutes, or yank the battery cables for a bit.

Would any one know where the location of this B+ connection on the automatic transmission that is giving me the CEL so i may be able to fix it instead of having to bring it to a shop.

On the front of the tranny to the left of the header, (looking from the front of the car) your going to see two solenoids and the plugs to the o2 sensor, with that plug to the o2 sensor are two more plugs, cant remember which one is which but those are the two plugs you need to check. Most likely they were moved or maybe even accidentally unplugged while installings there header. Check them then reset the ecu and check if they come back on...hope this helps, good luck...
