I'm no expert... BUT the areas between the cylinders look pretty good to me. I've seen some that were pretty sketchy between the each cylinder. Looks like it came off in one piece, too. Others can speak to the discoloration/build up...

Yeah man that thing is shot. ny h/g looked pretty good but it still leaked. Coolant doesn't necessari;y need to be in the cylinders for it to be bad. Get you a ridge reamer and a new gasket and hook it up.
Chiltons has the procedure. Have your head milled flat too if you can. it makes a bigg difference in how the head seats on the block..good luck man

well, since youve taken it off already, just replace it.. plus, from what many friends have told me, once you take off the head gasket, you HAVE to replace it..

sorry to hijack the thread, but is there a aftermarket one better for turbo?, like a strong one so we don't blow!

Great achievements result from great effort

im still looking myself, dont think so tho...but i here teh best to use is OEM.
this gasket is a 35buc gasket from autozone. so thats why i pulled it, plan to run a hOnda OEM gasket sprayed with copper (suppose to handle high temps better)

I don't think its the headgasket that you should be looking closely at. Remember than your coolant was only heating up under boost. I think u should be paying more attention to the head bolts and the amount that they may have stretched. Maybe its just my backwards way of thinking but i think your head bolts had lost some of their torque and it only showed up under high cylinder pressure/boost. Have u thought about sending your new head bolts to the cryogen place?

yeah thats why i removed everything...to mainly change the bolts...
but when i removed them i say hey, im better off change the gasket to OEM and spraying it down while im at it.
but the main thing i want to do is replace the bolts because i know they've been on there sense ive had the car (3 years) and ive had the cylinder head remove 2 times sense then.
ive been looking for stronger studs but of course no luck....
but thats a good idea, im a call Cryo and see if they do head bolts also, they sould.
ill let u know what they say....
                  thanks.

i just finished mine. i had this wierd vibration when the car are over 2500rpms. and some noise. wtf lol. i am keeping my fingers crosed so my car don't have any other overhating problems. because if it has then its a bad engine head.
