Car sounds different all of sudden

I dont know what the heck is goin on, but my cb sounds a little louder now, almost like im running open header, and its VERY raspy. It also backfires when i shift at higher rpms. I know im running a lil rich, so idk if its shooting flames or what. And then theres this ticking sound everytime i accelerate. I did nothing different to this car over the last few months. DOES ANYONE KNOW THESE SYMPTOMS? HELP

My CB started to have those symptoms when i had a hole in the exhaust somewhere. Have you looked under the car yet?

Okay.....this car is freakin me out! Lol
I checked the exhaust and theres no holes. But today, i was driving and all of a sudden, i hear a quick noise from the engine(sounded exactly like a tranny grind) and then immediately the car got MUCH LOUDER, with a rough idle, and it seems to be losing power. can someone tell me what the phreak is goin on???!

Did your intake pop off the throttle body?

Not sure, ill be sure to check out that intake mani. Tomorrow cuz its cold as hell outside

it has to be an exhaust leak, thats pretty much the only way a car can get REALLY loud.

I know a bolt came undone near the axleback portion of my RSR and it immediately became louder and raspier.

Unless your timing somehow changed?

Yeah ur right. Thanks. Im usually a patient guy. Its just a bad time for this to be happening, and im worried that the engine is gonna blow

You have an aftermarket header right? If you bolted the flange on the bottom, the welds may have cracked. Also check your flex pipe.

Louder and ticking is 99% likely to be an exhaust leak like others have stated.

When you say rough idle do you mean RPM wise? Or loudness? Sounds like the timing belt may have slipped. Have you checked that?

Guys u wont beleive what i saw this morning. Mike u were right. The freakin downpipe broke off from the header. It was just there dangling. Lol. Thank GOD thats all it is. God is good!
