I found out that they're level 2 400hp axles but they're the old version they make. The Driveshaft shop rep said that I could send them in and have them check everything out, you think I should do this? He told me, after I sent him a few photos of them that they are the right specs for h f and k series transmissions

Have You tried to clean the splines on the axle? Also the size difference should tell you it won't work.

I tried greasing them, thats about it. I got it to go in half way and then it got really tough to go the rest of the way, my impact was struggling trying to tighten that 36mm nut on so I stopped. Plus, I didnt want to ruin my week old wheel bearings if it did get stuck.

Damn, i guess I have to ship them all the way to SC and have them "inspect" them...hope they don't rip me off.

if there is a prob, they should pay for shippin both ways, but that wont happen, sadly enough you have to spend cash to send them back.

do you know how much a honda axle costs? like 300 dollars. These were 200 for both. this guy paid close to 900 for both of these so i figured it'd worth a shot. He had them in his car, installed, I just don't understand why they're not going in mine, same 93 accord only his was a sedan, mine is a coupe, but that shouldn't matter

If I were you, get money back from those crappy axles, take current axles, take them apart clean them, slap new boots and grease on them and your good to go.

my current axles are kinda crappy, well my P/S is a good honda one but the D/S is a worn out EMPI one thats giving me a vibration when accelerating. A couple days ago the grease leaked out when I raced an NSX and splattered all over my engine/undercarriage.

no thats the thing...the Honda P/S one is perfect....but the EMPI D/S one has the inner boot torn and I think its the cause of my vibrations.

I really want to make these axles work though since I know the CV and bearings are far superior to the Honda one, they're optimized for lowered cars, and the axle itself is heat treated to handle more stresses and 400whp.

ok well I put that P/S axle in today and so far so good. It's not leaking any fluids or popping out, even though it takes not a lot of effort to pull it out of the tranny. I tried turning lock to lock, driving around in circles to try to make it come out and it stayed put.

You guys think I should be ok?

I'm still getting a pretty noticeable vibration after putting both of these driveshaft shop axles in. Wheel bearings and tierods are brand new and I just got an alignment today. Is it shaking upon acceleration b/c of being lowered? Only happens from 25-35 mph upon mild-moderate acceleration.

                            OK, bumping this again....

FF to today, I sent these both into DSS and they supposedly "checked them over" like they said. I had them put new boots and grease in them. Cost me 60 bucks. Shipping there and back was 70 bucks since they're way the hell in NC.

I go to put the D/S one in, went in nice and easy. I go to put the P/S one in and it also went in easy, BUT its STILL not locking!

Idk what else to do now. I measured the spline part that goes into the trans and its still the same 56mm it was when I was having the issues. The OE honda one is 58mm. Boots and grease are new now and they cleaned the axles up nicely, I almost thought they sent me brand new ones b/c there wasn't any rust on them anymore.

I sent them an email about it, hopefully they can fix this issue.

You think I should bitch and have them send me a new P/S one? I mean, they did have them for a solid week and a half, I also specifically asked them to test it in a Honda tranny to make sure it locked. I'm sure as hell not paying for shipping BACK to them again...each way for both costs about 35 bucks not to mention both my old axles have blown boots, so i dont feel comfortable putting those back in. This is so frustrating!

I'm thinking the inner spline plug is the wrong size. I checked 3 Pass. side axles, EMPI, checker, and my OEM honda and they're all around 58mm (part that goes into trans) my DSS one is 56.xx so now i've gotta send the pass. side all the way back to them.

I hate it when companies say they checked it over and you get them and nothing fits right.

OK, Went to hasport the other day and brought this axle. I had them check it out and immediately Keith came back and said that I've got a B-series inner CV joint. So I guess that would be the reason why it keeps sliding out of the tranny.

I can't believe Driveshaft shop didn't catch this though, I must've told them multiple times I've got an H-series trans and H22 engine in my Accord. Whatever. I guess I've got to send it back to them again to get a new inner CV put on.
