    Sporatic battery light

My battery light is crazy, sometimes the battery light will just randomly flicker, and sometimes when using the gas pedal it comes on steady. It seems to come on at other random times too. Also, the other night I drove to about 75 mph or so and got a check engine light. I didn't hear anything break and it was smooth the whole way home, It doesn't stay on but I've seen it come on a few times since. Any ideas?

EDIT: also, my VSS is out. dunno if that helps.

You may want to check your grounds underneath the hood as your generator might be overcharging where it doesn't need to be. I am suffering from the same issue, I haven't found exactly where it is happening at. But I hope this helps you some...

Does just the light come on or do your headlights and such dim too?

yeah i would start at the alternator for the battery light. not sure about the check engine light...

I have a feeling it's the alternator brushes (worn out). The light comes on when the brushes lose contact with the shaft. If possible, try reving the car in park and have a friend tap the alternator lightly with a hammer or something when the light comes on. It's quite common on high k cars. You can buy just the brush assembly from Honda (cheaper than buying a new alt).
