    My 95K service-- pretty typical...

I just got my coupe from a dealer even. I'm sure the previous owner did NOT due a bunch of maint. before he traded it in. It ran fine, but I figured I'd anticipate some stuff and just do it. I couldn't get a history on the vehicle, so I assumed stuff probably had not been done... Anyway, here's the list!! Nothing out of the ordinary really.

    • Timing belt
    • Balance shaft belt
    • V belts (2)
    • Crank, cam seals (retainer clip)
    • Water pump
    • Thermostat (Flush/Fill with green)
    • Valve cover gasket
    • Fuel filter
    • Air filter
    • Driveshafts (AutoZone)
    • Spark Plugs and spark plugs seals
    • Spark plug wires (AutoZone)
    • Cap, rotor
    • Battery

$500 for labor. I think I'm set for awhile. The boots were just ripped on the shafts, but it was only a matter of time. You guys mightg wanna check your axle boots because they do get torn over time.

Yeah, I have found that it is easier to just replace the whole shaft if you have a ripped boot. With them Autozone shafts, you can get them pretty cheap, and it makes the job a lot easier. I made the mistake of buying one of them split boots one time, that was a mistake :thumbsdow

Werd to that. I think Honda has to take the shafts off to put their boots on. There's like 2 kinds of grease for the different joints (inboard, outboard) as I recall. I say spend $130 and get both shafts replaced. Boot service is the
      :thumbsdow either universal or OEM.

some times Autozone and or other local parts stores have tweaked shafts so beware. The shafts are all used NONE of them are new. Only the cv joints are replaced

Just picked up the whip. It runs freaking tight. He said one balance shaft was off by 90 degrees. Apparantly, the belt had been changed but the seals were seeping oil and no retainer clip was installed. I think someone replaced the timing belt and left it at that... Now, it's all straight as all get out. Smooth as silk. He also adjusted the valves and serviced the throttle body. I'll keep my eyes out on the axles, but I think the quality of the rebuilds has improved. I remember when they seemed to always fail after one year, too. Rust is next, and if the work is as good as the mechanic... it will be brand new. Seriously.

lol, the autozone axles that mine came with had different sized axle nuts on each side...one was 34 and the other was a 36mm nut, lol
