    stock piping

first off ive been having trouble searching for things again so if this topic is out there i do apologize for reposting but here it goes

i need to know the size of the stock piping on our cars
i think they are all the same but if not

my car is a 91 accord sedan lx

i need to know because i am getting parts for my exhaust and well need to have every thing planed before i go buying stuff i dont want to be at the store buying 3 different sizes

now i think its 2.25 but i dont have much confirmation on this

Stock exhaust piping is right around 1 3/4". IIRC, the exact number is between 1.65" and 1.70".

See, that's what I always thought. But, when I was changing out the exhaust on my EX, I measured just a hair under 1.71". When I measured the exhaust on my DX, it was even smaller.

Maybe neither of my CBs had OEM piping.

1.75 here. would it make a difference if its a 2.25 piping with stock muffler?

Im sure theres a difference between, Honda stock piping and a standard replacement piping, im sure with the replacement exhausts there is less effort in exacting the diameter

Also in relation to the last thing, a slightly tapered exhaust diameter keeps up the velocity improving torque. like for example, 2.5 tapered to 2.25 but depends on your setup

Imagine pouring water into a funnel. The side you're pouring water into is 2.25", and the exit end is 1.75". As you pour, the water will get backed up and begin to overflow out of the top.

                Same goes for your exhaust.
