    EGR valve Removal problem.

I've trying to remove my erg valve on a 92 LX and I can't seem to get my socket wrench to fit without taking the whole mani off... anyone done this without taking the mani off?

I tried the small diamiter extention and it snaped in half. and the bigger diamiter wont fit other then at an angle which is starting to round off the nut.

p.s. "yes........" wow! that was helpfull.

I had similar problems, this is what I did:
        1. Try a wrench, it worked better.
        2. Take off the black cap thingy on top off, that might give you a little more room.
        3. Use a short socket.
        4. Put the socket on first, then slip the extension on. It won't go all the way, but if you can get it in far enough, it'll turn.

        Hope that helps, good luck!

Btw, are you using a block-off plate? If so, where'd you get it from, I need one.

egr valve is the exhaust recirculation ventalation it does junk with the air and idle and stuff......and no you dont have to replace it unless it is bad...and chances are at 105K its still gonna be good.

Replece no. clean yes.. as well as your egr ports. the egr valve reserculates exahust gasses back into the manifold so they can be burn once again. less smog that way. I think.
