    car bogging / jerking

so ive read all of the bogging and jerking threads on this forum and i have an idea of what it could be, but my situation is different from the threads ive seen.

in a 40 minute drive, mostly highway, the car will jerk / bog more than 30 times
and its a slight jerk that i can feel, it scared me when it first happened but im getting used to the feeling. rpms wouldn't drop too much, about 100 or so, lasts for 1 second at most. sometimes it even does 2 consecutive jerks / bogs

it happens very frequently during my morning drive to school, but on the way home its alot less. and i also notice if i don't warm up my car enough, it will also more likely jerk / bog in the lower gears and speeds

so from what ive seen on the threads, it could be my o2 sensor, my first guess was a dying fuel pump. Fuel filter is new, just did a tuneup, no CELs. for the most part the car drives pretty good, its just these random jerks / bogs. also my car is stick.

might be time for new plug wires, also check the sparkplug tubes to see if they have oil in them if you find oil ,time to change the v/c gasket and tube seals.........

        X2ND that as well .

I had oil in my spark plugs and when I went to change the gasket seals , my friend said that it was wierd that my car wasn't jerking , bogging out because there was a good amount of oil in the chambers.

egr ports cleaned, plugs cap and rotor new.
wires haven't been changed yet, and theres oil in the sparkplug holes
but its been in there for years without any jerking problems
so i think i should look elsewhere for the solution, haven't fixed the oil in sparkplugs problem because im gonna swap in a different f22 soon

i also noticed that it happens when i keep the rpms consistently the same.
but when im accelerating it doesn't happen.

Hey luis, the problem might not be from the engine though
Could be the fuel pump or the o2 sensor, that's why im trying to figure out what it is

Now that I remember my old cd5 had this problem..sorta... it would not wanna go anywhere when I was on the hwy and stomped on the gas.. it would catch after like 5 seconds and it would missfire.. I ended up having a code 43 like a month after I had that problem.. switched out the o2 and cleaned my egr ports and it was running like a champ.. maybe u can go to the jy and swipe a couple of o2's.. id give it a shot and then go from there..

I don't think its the fuel pump since ur problem is only during one condition

Ran into the infamous code 43 this week myself, I started with the filter since it was cheaper option, it was clogged and weighed twice what the new one did. Swapped in a universal 4 wire laying around and all is great now. I have noticed alot of threads suggesting a fuel pump issue or most ppls first thought is its their fuel pump. If your gas cap is holding massive vacumn when at the gas pump the I wouldnt worry about the fuel pump first.

Good o2 sensor link.....has a wiring color chart for cross reference.

Glad you solved you issues, but......the old fuel filter was heavy because it was soaked with fuel. Not saying it wasn't dirty but the "dirt" is a negligible weight.

I here you but im not to sure about that...the O2 was definatley the original considering the amount of force applied to remove it via a really long breaker bar to bust loose. Either that or it was replaced without the use of anti-seize.
