    Turbo Rebuild Q?

So i did my research about rebuilding t3/t4 turbos in specific.

Do you really have to balance the turbine after you change out the journal bearings and seal or is that only after you get a new turbine wheel?

Some say no some say yes, but i want to make sure.

probably ideal but if i didnt change the turbine wheel then there would be no reason to balance it.

why not balance it???? wouldnt you want something that spins at 10k rpm to be straight and not clicking around however it is optional kinda like doing a water pump when you do a timing belt you are already there might as well do it so there arent problems down the road just my opinion

I had a turbo rebuilt once. Lasted a few months and pooped out again. I will never rebuild a turbo again. After I payed that bill off I could of bought a new one.

take that rpm number and multiply it by 10. If there is no wear or damage to the turbine, or compressor wheel, then it can be rebuilt without balancing. Keeping all the parts lined up is critical. I would recommend that the turbo be balanced just to be safe. At 100,000 rpms, you need balance!
