high mileage? possibly valve stem seals are worn and leaking, so oil is getting by causing the smoke

Do a compression test, if you got 2 low cylinders next to each other its probably the head gasket

Blue smoke is oil. Check compression and do a leakdown test. Could be rings or valve stems.Originally posted by Junior SmurffNevermind guys, google search works wonders!

heres a step by step of how to do the test

if compression is high and even across all cylinders, suspect valve stems
if compression is low on one or two and is cured by oiling, suspect rings.
if compression is low on two neighboring cylinders and neither is cured by oil, suspect head gasket.
