cold starting problem!!!

hey all

my 90 lx has an issue. it is about 40 degrees here in san antonio texas and when i start my car in the morning it turns over fine but then it just DIES after a minute of running and will NOT turn over again. i just did a full tune-up and everything. this mainly only happens in cold weather however it happened the other day when i was in some slight traffic and the damn car just died. also when i give the car some gas when trying to start it, it makes some loud ass popping noises.....wtf? anyone have any ideas. i did some searching on here and didn't really find anything but the main relay which is something i will check later. this car is pissin me off!

Just a thought. I had the same problem, I put some fuel dryer(heet) and filled up with some fresh gas and it's been running good since.

I had a similar problem but with a Tercel. It turned out the fuel filter wasn't flowing very good. Try changing the fuel filter.

well, lets see here. The main relay won't ever cause it to just die, it will just cause a no-start condition, but once its running its fine, and this usually happens when its warm anyway. Igniter will cause it to die, but the thing with that is the igniter either works, or it doesn't, there is no in between. Once it goes bad, thats it. Based on what you're describing, it doesn't sound like a fuel problem either, at least with the fuel pump, because once again, its either good or its not. I'm thinking ignition coil.
