    Chikara VS. DC Sports Headers

Okay guys, quick question: At the first of the month I will be buying my new headers. But I can't decide between DC Sports ceramic headers and Chikara Power Plus headers. I can order the DC Sports ceramic headers from JC Whitney Sport Compact for $392.94, or I can order a set of Chikara Power Plus headers through O'Reily's Auto Parts for $393.99. Not much differance in price tags, unless the price of the Chikara's dosen't include tax...
So, in your opinion, which setup is better? Which one would produce the biggest power increase? And just to be 100% sure, the A6 (EX) headers will fit my A1 (LX), right? Thankx for your input!

a6 headers are sitting on my a1 right now!

If you're gonna go aftermarket, go with a trusted C.A.R.B legal brand. DC all the way.

Shop around more because that price on the DC sports header is way to much. Don't stop shopping around until you get around the $300-320 area and this is for a new product, not used. I seriously do not know why people don't shop around more once they know what product they want. I could tell you what's the cheapest price I've seen, but I'll let you learn for yourself bud.

As the DC, I'm sure that you can get the Chikara header for significantly cheaper as well. Don't go to them retarded sites like JCWhitney, Jegs, etc...they are primarily domestic based companies and don't have much for imports. They only thing they are good for is like exhaust piping bends, hardware, things of this nature, etc.

A6, A4 and A1 will all fit on each other...what is the diff is the location of the O2 sensor bung. On the A6/A1 they are in the same position on the top part of the header, where as the A4 has it on the downpipe.

Okay, where would I look for cheaper? Any ideas there?

I've heard the bung on the A6 is on the down pipe. Not familer w/ A4...

go with an oem EX header... there's no difference aside from looks, and it's cheaper.

thats not true. most aftermarkets flow a little better and are lighter, and of course look better. i think what you meant was that the ex is the best bang for the buck, which it is.
but first SuperNova92LX, why are you getting a header? what are your mods? future mods?what are you trying to get out of your car? what exhaust are you running? those are all things to consider when you are looking for a header or any parts for that matter.

I don't know why, but I posted a reply stating which headers I was getting and now that responce is missing in action. Oh, well. Guess it happened when the site was down for the deleation of the suspension forum... The reason I need new headers is due to an exhaust leak. But I'm going to get a set of DC Sports headers for approx. $250.

I like mine... I feel a litle more low end and defintiely more topend.. mid might have suffered a bit but it's not THAT noticeable...that's in comparison to the Chikara Tork Step on my F20A DOHC...

What this man said is entirely true... even EX's pick up a good solid 3-4hp froma an aftermarket header...When will the myth that the EX exhaust manifold is comparable to an aftermarket header die?

                          Damn good price...

and anyways.. to the original question of DC vs Chikara... I have had both the DC CC and the Chikara Tork Step... and while the DC has superior quality i actually felt more of a gain from the Chikara Tork Step...that was a comparison on the sohc...

But I like my new kamikaze 4-1 the bestest...

I've heard stories of Chikara cracking... Never anything really bad about DC. Still, I never really looked into it.

The F22A6 header is a very good piece, and as someone said above, it's probably the best gain for the money. However, a good aftermarket header WILL give gains over that... Like Zigen said, 3-4 is about right. Ignore any 15hp claims! A good header (yes, we only have one ) will be most beneficial with an intake and an exhaust system though.

Zigen, how does the 4-1 treat you? I always heard that a 4-1 setup robs low end considerably, though it's better for high end. I've always considered that more of a race setup.

Has anybody welded a 2.5 collector onto an A6 manifold?
