    Muffler System

    Hey guys whats up havent been on in a while.. but well I guess another problem happened.... Well not really A proble M I was expecting it.. my tail pipe rusted of and I took my car to cole muffler and they want to put on a whole muffler system (center pipe, exhaust, tail) all for $280.00.. which doesnt see mthat bad for a regular muffler system.. but I was wonderin how much would it cost for a good cat back system installed? well how much would a decent cat back cost? Iam not lookin for the best nor the shittiest kinda in between good for its price cuz my money is low.... well thnkas in advance.

    i call rape for $280 for a stock exhaust system. For another $70, you can get a kick ass system like the apexi ws or apexi ws2. you can get a pretty good system for $280 also. all the aftermarket exhausts should be bolt on. So i would suggest doing it yourself, b/c it's not that hard.

    for my custom aftermarket exhaust, here's what i paid (this is my second setup):

    custom 2.25" crush bent piping = $60
    turbo muffler = $30
    resonator = $25
    labor / mounting = $40

    total = $155 for a decent system

    replace the $30 turbo muffler with a universal "performance muffler" - $70

    total = $195 installed < $280

    punchline i wouldn't pay $280 for a stock exhaust system.

          Well, JUST a cat-back system will get you somewhere around 10 hp. If you go the intake/header/cat-back route you'll get the best gains.

          As far as something under $280, remember that you get what you pay for. I found a fairly cheap (and fairly no-name brand) system at www.nopionline.com . Other than that you'll be looking at $415 for a nice Apexi WS system....that's GOOD shit right there.

          You could still go the stock route and install it yourself. www.hondaautomotiveparts.com has just the axle-back (muffler & piping) for about $120 +shipping. The install is VERY straight forward. Just remember to use LOTS of PB Buster/WD-40 on those bolts!

              The install is a easy DIY
              all you need are the tools and ramps or jackstands to raise the car up.
              if you don't have all the tools you could pay a shop to install it for like $30.

                            here's another option:
                            http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...948880363&rd=1
                            but the secound one you listed looks pretty nice. shoot a email over to them and see who makes that cat back. because I know greddy doesn't make a exhaust like that and never for that cheap...
