My negative battery terminal is totally shot and needs to be replaced. Whats the best way to replace it? Should i just cut the terminal off and strip the wire?

cut? doesnt it just get in a clip and get tightened. I just got a new battery yesterday and connecters and u put the wire thouigh and you tighten the 10 mm bolts. maybe yours is diff
