I had a code 12 and it was just the vacuum hose that had come off.
where should I start looking ? where is the egr ?

I`ve looked everywhere for any hose unplugged and could`nt find one.. is the egr a sensor somewhere that i can check to see if its plugged or unplugged ? what are the symtoms related to this going bad ? all im getting is that sometimes when i come to a complete stop my idle goes real low and the car sometimes dies, i was going to try the idle screw but my idle is good at 800. the idle drops as soon as my check engine light comes on with the code 12. HELP!!!

the EGR valve is located on the intake manifold right beside the fuel rail towards the passenger side. it looks like a mini-light house.

It's the one in orange. i took off the valve for cleaning, but that's where it goes. There is a plug for it and there is a vacuum hose that leads from the black canister (located on the firewall passenger side) to the egr. hope this helps.
