    How to wrap a header?

I wanna heat wrap my header and I was just wondering if there's a certain trick to wrapping them, or do you just wrap them? Any suggestions?

Get the metal zip ties at Home Depot, they have them, long and short ones. Before I realized that I was buying them on ebay and paying twice as much.

I don' think there is any trick to wrapping the header, just take it off the car so its easier to work with and wrap it and secure the ends with metal zip ties. That's it

You could spray it with water so little fibers from the wrap don't fly around you in the air and so you aren't breathing them.

Some header wrap out there is really thick, so making it wet will make it a bit easier to install.
But I've purchased header wrap that was rather thin too and didn't need to wet it at all, it was very easy to work with.

Ok, so there's no other thing I should know about wrapping them? Just wrap every tube and secure it?

dunk the heat wrap in a dish of water before you wrap it, it'll make the wrap tighter and won't slide off the header as easily when installing it. The people who make the heat wrap, Thermotec, also make those ties as well, but its like 12 bucks for a box of 6 I think, so it is pricey but they're MADE for those high temps that the exhaust can reach and won't fail on you.

depends on where you live but if it snows or rains a lot, id paint and seal the header off from corrosion because the heatwrap will hold moisture in.

                            So, paint first then wrap?
