a honda automatic transmission dies because it is a honda and it just wasnt meant to be. swap to a manual and keep on driving it.

or rebuild the transmission for 900.

Ya, happened to me bro, except in about 3 days!
I had no time to pick a tranny, I got raped for $1200
Your lucky ass had 5 years!
It was totally unexpected, heres a tip, find out what the tranny wants!!!!
Its flashing for a reason, something is wrong.


Also, the tranny has oil...you change the engine oil right? (Hopefully)
Why dont you change the tranny's oil?
It could be low or out of fluid, if anything its probally shit brown, when it should be nice and red.
Hey remember the saying? "If its brown, flush it down"?

Just draining the fluid and putting new in can sometimes give the tranny a few more years.
But it gave my tranny 3 more days lol

Tips for you new tranny
Get a Oil Cooler installed for it! (Heat killed my tranny)
Install a magnetic drain plug! (Youll be amazed how much crap they catch)
Use ONLY Honda ATF-Z1

My tranny was killed from old worn fluid, that got hot and did not lubricate the clutch packs, thus caused the clutch packs to grind on themselves and the metal shavings filled up the transmission filter, thus clogging the main valve and rendering my tranny a paperweight.
Had I had a magnetic drain plug, drained the fluid and put in new, I could still be driving an Automatic.
