    PCV Valve

I tried finding threads with the search function, but came up empty.

I just want to know if this is a dealer only part and how much it is. On my last oil change they told me it was failing. I kind of suspected it was due to a decrease in mileage.

It's not hard to replace, is it?

Piece of cake! It is in the center of the valve cover toward the back. Depending on what model/yr etc you should be able to pick it up at auto zone or napa or who ever you like for less than $5. It pulls right out of it hole and out of the hose and the new one slips right back in. easiest repair i have ever done <5 min.

haha ya.. just pull it, i heard and read that if u shake it and u hear movement its still good, but if its caked up, then no good, either way, they kinda cheap anyhow..

however when i took mines off i think the line broke cuz old. so i just bought a fuel line and connected it .

Man what a difference a little piece of plastic tubing does! Took me a couple minutes. The only thing that was a pain was getting the old one out of the rubber tube. After I put the new one it I decided to take it around the block to see if I noticed any difference. I didn't really think I would, but was I wrong! Feels like I have a Ferrari now! It really revs and pulls a lot quicker. I'm sure my gas mileage will be better too.

I did mine the other week and spent <$5 at Auto Zone for a new PCV valve. I replaced the rubber grommet that it goes into for $2.33 from Honda.
