    question about AIR FILTER CONE..

    hello,

i have an AEM SR intake and plan on selling it. what i want is to get just a CONE FILTER and put it on my STOCK intake. is that possible? i did a search and didn't find much.. please post experiences and what not.

i dislike seeing my CHROME intake getting worn out and beaten up, so i'm like screw the aesthetics already..
    hahahahah

A cone filter on OEM intake plumbing? Why bother?

yes you can do it, it will sound better than stock and will most likely give you slighty better gas mileage, just take off the stock air box and put it where it connected to that air box
        I don't lie, I bullshit

I'm still not seeing exactly why you would want to do that, especially, as pointed out above, you already have an aftermarket intake.

If you don't like the chrome being beat up, get some heat wrap for it or paint it engine enamel semi-gloss black.

Just a thought. Do what you want.

i've looked at the DIY pretty cool.. the question is having to mount it up tight or something... maybe w/ tie-locks..

i just feel like OBLIGATED to keep thigns clean and stuff like that.. i am in need of funds right now, and don't really care the cosmetics, but rather performance.. if the cone thing works, cool... maybe its just me, but the throttle cable and heat and dust etc etc puts a toll on the shiny aem, and thus it kinda makes me 'da kind' like i better take care of it and stuff la dat. i feel much better in a cheapo ebay or a diy... haha not sure if it make sense, but uggh.. thanks

i may just hell w/ it and just stick w/ the aem if no one buys it.. if ur poor ur poor like me ...
