    coolant disposal

Im changing the coolant in my car for the first time, just never really had to do it before i guess, and im wondering what should i do with it when i drain it?

and correct me if im wrong but to drain it just pull out the bottom hose and let gravity do its job?

I've always poured mine down the drain and rinsed it away, or poured it into the empty new jug and thrown it in the trash.

Open the drain and remove the radiator cap. You'll still have some residual coolant in the engine, but not much.

I used to let it run on the ground out in the country. But if I am in the city I try not to get it everywhere because some dumbass neighbors dog might get loose and drink it and then I get sued because people are like that where. I live. Your best bet is just to put it in an oil catch can. It will rinse it out anyways!!!

          Proper Disposal

The Coolant should be collected and added to your municipality's hazardous waste collection. Storing it in milk jugs with my zip code is acceptable in my county, check with your city's website to be sure. Dumping it on the ground is a bad idea since the coolant contains aluminum complexes that can contaminate freshwater via run-off.

Most auto parts stores will properly dispose of used coolant and oil for you too.

pop the bottom hose n cap and let it drain...then add new coolant and place cap on and run to let bubbles out and then take the cap and tighten it after
