I'm afraid I was mistaken. I jumpered my CEL connector today, and I'm still getting a solid light...It's the blue one with like green and orange wires coming out on the passenger side kickpanel, right? It can't be the wrong connector, when it's jumped, me CEL comes on steady..no blinking, just solid. But the car runs fine! It doesn't feel like it's in a 'limp' mode or anything like that. It seems to perform as it should, but it isn't reporting correctly. I know, I know, if it's running fine Who Cares, right? But its little things like this that make me crazy in the brain. I won't sleep right until I resolve it...

on the stairs, she grabs my arm, says whats up,
where you been, is something wrong?
i try to just smile, and say everything’s fine.

wait holy shit fuck i just remember something.....if you put the paper clip on the wrong side of the jumper the check engine light will stay solid...make sure you put the paper clip on the end that has the two metal parts...maybe thats it.

I drove it out of my driveway and about fifty feet on a chilly morning and all of a sudden it went dead, the battery light came on, then the oil light. I tried to start it up again and the starter runs, but it doesn't even attempt to fire.

I had it towed to a shop yesterday (it's too cold outside, and I've already got one broken car. I don't need two) thier first suspicion was the timing belt.

the wrong end? there's only one end with open slots... the other end has wires coming out of it.

well if i remember correctly there are four things on the blue connector...two of the connectors have metal inside them, the other two connectors have nothing inside them....that probably doesnt make to much sense, it late and im tired...oh and drunk, i mean waht/////////////

What is the point to jumping, when you can just look at the led's under the carpet? Is jumping any easier or something?

i think only the 1990 models came with the LED built into the ecu...

could that be the problem, I didn't look at the ECM itself (I assume that's where the LEDs would be) How do you get it to blink out a code?

Well apparently there's no signal coming off the crank sensor, so I'm buying a new distributor (and paying someone $75 to put it in... sigh )

ijole no!!!! Buy some manual and some sockets for your car and do that shit your self...save your self the $75 too. =)

Besides, that way you KNOW whats going on and that you're not getting ripped off.

Well I would love to now that I know what's wrong (or at least one thing), I could probably find a good dist for cheaper too. But they've got my car and I'm not going to have it towed back to my place to put the part in (the tow's $89 btw)

so your distributor is making the check engine light stay on?

who knows? maybe like many of you after the thing's fixed it will still stay on.
