    IAB spacers on an H22A?

I know this has been discussed for F22A1, A4 and A6 engines, but how does this mod. work for H22 engines since they rev higher and make power higher....

    1. Is it better to have it like the F22 guys, and do an IAB plate on top and gutted spacer on the bottom?

    2. Just a gutted spacer in place of the IAB?

    3. No IABs, just a plenum directly on the runners?

I've got 3 extra IAB plates, 1 of which I already gutted and JB welded the part where the butterflies were. So I figured I'd mess around w/ this.

IMO, plenum on runners is best.

does that provide the most power? or best mileage?

Any loss of low end? I already have an 8lb flywheel so I've gotta rev it just a bit to get off the line smoothly. This won't increase the need for revving will it?

Also what about the IACV and the coolant lines? will those interfere w/ the runners?

You make shit way to complicated.

It has the best overall powerband. No real loss in bottom end, and a little better pull in the top.

It will bolt right on with no issues.

Post of your thoughts on this... seems like a simple mod to perform to my car... Once the weather allows... It could always be reverted if it doesnt work so I gusse it coulndt hurt...

So essintially you just remove the iab plater/spacer, and thats it, put everthing back together?

well you also have to make sure your gaskets are in good shape, otherwise you'll get a vacuum leak sorta bouncing rev. those gaskets aren't cheap either, about 10 bucks each and have to be special ordered only from Honda

well I'm finally getting around to do this.

But I found a VERY informative article regarding this topic, 11pages worth of stuff so I just thought I'd share. The thread started out good, but then finished w/ off topic crap for the last couple of pages.

              http://www.honda-tech.com/showthread.php?t=1837017

and here's a more detailed one done by Blacktrax w/ their manifold, an OEM manifold, 1 spacer, 2 spacers, and 1 spacer w/ the IABs on top

              http://www.honda-tech.com/showthread.php?t=1841594

The ONLY one they didn't do is with the plenum directly on the runners

I have heard that at 7,000 rpm the butterflies, even though they are open, end up being a restriction. I have not seen it proven on a dyno just sharing what I have heard. Hope it helps.
