    starting problem,please help!!!!

Ok, my car has ran great ever since I have owned it. No problems at all. but the other day when I was leaving work, I tried to start it and it didnt want to fire up. It was turning over just fine,so I know its not the battery or starter. But like I said, It would just turn over, I turned it off for a sec and tried again. It did the same thing for a few seconds then it seemed like it was trying to catch and finally after stumbling for a few seconds, it fired up. After it started it ran just fine. No power loss or missing or anything like that. When I got home, I shut it off and tried it again. It did the same thing but it didnt take as long as with the first time. It seems like it gets worse from setting for a while. But I just dont get it. It just all of a sudden started to do this. ever since that night(wednsday) it has done it ever since. Please help me. I just ordered my header and the next day this happened. I would feel like a damn idiot if i just spent a couple of hundred dollars on a performance mod and the car is goin south on me.

It sounds like a dying fuel pump relay

Since you said it turns over fine its almost like its just not getting any gas right? I just read a few threads about this and almost all of them had a dying relay..try a search on it!

They said it would only start once they let it sit for a few seconds and heard the fuel pump kick on

    Good luck!
So, is that what you call a getaway?
Tell me what you got away with.
Cause I've seen more spine in jellyfish.
I've seen more guts in eleven-year-old kids.

Have another drink and drive yourself home.
I hope there's ice on all the roads.
And you can think of me when you forget your seatbelt,
and again when your head goes through the windshield.

And is that what you call tact?
You're as subtle as a brick in the small of my back.

Yea, that's most likely your main PGM-FI relay. Do this: next time it happens... if it happens again, turn the key to 'run' (II) and watch the dash lights come on and go off. Timed with the check engine light, you should hear a faint humming noise. That's the fuel pump. If you don't hear it, your main relay is shot. I think there's a DIY on here about replacing it, but it's a pretty easy project if you ask me. The part was about $60 and it took me about 20 minutes to put it in.

if its the main relay just resolder it.....in the mean time bang on the side of the dash to get it started...it will shake the main relay and help make the connection

First I Just Wanted To Thank Everybody For Their Input On My Problem. I Actually Figured It Out Though. It Turns Out It Was My Coolant Temp Sensor. It Was Bad And In Turn Tellin My Computer That My Motor Was Always Cold Thus Dumping All Kinds Of Fuel And Flooding My Car. I Went On The Online Shop Manual And According To The Troubleshooting Diagram, It Said To Try That First. I Replaced It And Got Some New Plugs(two Of The Old Ones Were Fouled Out Because Of The Constant Flooding) And It Runs And Starts Like A Champ Again. Thanks Everyone For The Info Though.
