I am dumb founded here, my idle has been screwy(1000-2500 jumps) for a while and I just put on a fresh iacv and iatv. It fixed it a little bit but not all the way now it's only about a 250-400rpm change. My question is what else can cause this?

The air boost valve can also causing a surging idle but that is less common than other reasons. Other than that just check all of your vacuum lines. My Member's Ride Thread

It is good to get out there and try to figure shit out on your own, thats what i do and when im stumped, i jump on here. Its amazing how many people overlook the fact that if your idle screw magically backs out enough and sets the base idle to high, it will surge like this. This is EXACTLY what happened to me, cost me a IM/TB setup before i figured it out. My car idled good at 1/2 turn out from all the way in, and from the engine vibration my idle screw would back itself out several turns and begin to surge. Check that... And ofcourse vacuum leeks, when i bolted down my FR/U strut bar i pinched my PCV hose and cut it in half, that cased terrible idle surging... Sometimes its the simple stuff.Last edited by eazyduzit509; 02-24-2010, 01:49 PM.
