    What Clutch FITS?!?!?!

Ok. So I need a clutch for my '93 'Lude. I have the same F22a1/6 in my Accord as my 'Lude. I went to Autozone to get a clutch price, and I get quoted at $200 for a Prelude clutch. I price an Accord clutch and it's $99. Now I know the trannys are interchangable, but the guy behind the counter said that the spline or spindle or something is 1/32 in. off and 1/4 in. smaller diameter. So I went on Ebay to look one up and everything I find on there says ALL MODEL ACCORD/PRELUDE.......So wtf is going on? Can you interchange clutches or not? And if I get the clutch kit for the Accord, will I still be able to use the pressure plate and throw out bearing? THANKS for the help!!

My Exedy clutch was listed as an H23 clutch.

    And yes, it fits/works/engages/disengages/etc.

the knob gobbler probably quoted you a clutch kit with a pressure plate, throwout bearing, ect for the 'lude and clutch disc only for the accord.

an f22 will fit but i wouldnt trust it to support a h23's power. my pressure plate started slipping after 30k with hard use on a stock f22. (exedy oem but works great for dd, im on my 2nd one)

pressure plates dont slip, the disc does because of a lack of pressure plate pressure

What I don't understand is that both cars have the same motor and I'm guessing they have the same tranny, I haven't checked. So in theory, the clutches should be the same as well. What I'm thinking of doing is just getting the Autozone clutch for an Accord and if it won't work on the 'Lude, just keep it for when the clutch needs replaced on the Accord. Sound good or is that just retarded?

lude clutches have thicker splines on the pressure plate. i rather go with the thicker material than the thin, its more durable.

My plan is to put this clutch in and then sell the 'Lude. But the Accord clutch won't hurt it any, right? Cause I don't want to sell someone something that's gonna break in a couple hundred miles.

Dont buy any clutches from autozone or advance auto. Every time I get one the springs break and it causes it to slip after a shift. Buy exedyor any other name brand clutch or dont do the clutch at all hahaha. I already learned the hard way 3 times already.

So this is what I found out. I checked at Autozone and the specs for the clutches are thus:

Accord : 8 7/8 diameter clutch disc, 1" (center hole, I forget what it's called)
                          Prelude : 8 5/8 diameter clutch disc, 1 1/32 center hole thing

And I've seen some online that have the center hole at 1 1/16 for Accords. So this may not work b/c it's smaller than others that I've seen. I'll keep you guys updated if it works. I bought the Accord clutch for the Prelude today. Now I just gotta put it in.

all clutches are interchangable between the h and f series engines.
