    Why does my Accord vibrate?

i have a 92 ex automatic. when i come to a stop or idling in park, the car vibrates pretty bad. there are a lot of rattles inside the car. when i give it just a little gas the vibration goes away. could it be my engine mounts? i've visually inspected them and they look okay, but i guess you really can't tell until you take them off.

I think its more of a motor mount but if you hear clanking as well could be that too

wow, thanks for the fast replies. i think i am just going to replace the mounts because i'm sure they have never been replaced. it seems 3 of the mounts run about fifty bucks each, but one is like two hundred bucks. this happened when i replaced my mounts in a prelude i used to have. the guy at the dealer said that the expensive mount hardly ever goes bad, so i only replaced the three, and it was fine. is this the same for the accord? thanks again.

try to do it yourself if you can and check to see if which one is cracked to determine that.

yeah, i had my front motor mount replaced due to vibration and it went away for a year. Now my car vibrates like crazy when i put it into reverse - especially with the AC on.

if it reverses in reverse its that front motor mount...go inspect the inside of it....

how low is ur idle...i suspect motor mounts as well..dont let it ride out too long on bad mounts...first its the front mount, then the rear...the rear costs a grip...then its ur tranny.

to inspect the front one, look inside not at the flap of rubber...then see if the rubber is on the metal wals...if not then well its gone hehe..

Will it really damage your tranny? I've been riding on a broken rear mount for sometime now, I wasnt aware that It'd cause serious probs.

                mmmmmmmmmmmmmm....... DOHC

I have to remove my front motor mount due to my turbo, now the car vibrate alot in reverse, but if I gas it then the vibrating stop, my idle is around 700RPM. from what I can see the 3 remaining mount seem ok, the engine don't move much when I go from park to drive and neutral. what can I do since I cannot install a new front moter mount??

I am experiencing the same problems.. Reverse and park vibration... I was told that a rear hydraulic mount might fix the problem what do you think?

Black and Tan, I just e-mailed you the e-bay auction that I bought my rear mount from. $ 59.00 and it works fine. If the the auction has eneded call them and they will probally honor the price. The cheapest I could find it elsewhere was $150.00.
