Before removing the old distributer I played with the ign timing (moving it left or right) thinking that maybe previous owners moved it. When that didn't work I figuerd it had a weak spark so I replaced it. When I replaced the dizzy it acted the same. Far counter clockwise then a 1/4 turn clockwise they both ran the best (like in vid ).

Hmmm, make sure your getting spark from all the wires.

Also check correctly the IATV valve, and you said you tightend the idle adjuster screw tight cause it was loose? It isn't suppose to be all tight in, it has to be adjusted at atleast 650-900-rpm...I think you over tightend the adjuster screw to much.

id verify your TPS voltages and adjust as nessasary as well as verify you do indeed have a known good map sensor in the car.

im assuming in addition with a timing light? moving it 4 degrees in each direction cant be heard especially at idle.

Did you try setting base idle properly? Refer to my sticky in DIY section.

Spark plug wires were also replaced from a running parts car. I'll check the idle screw I may of over tighten.

Went out and loosen it, made no difference. Now every once in a while it will want to idle proper for a split sec then drops down to 500-600 rpms

Sounds like a timing issue. Did you ever check your cam timing?

This may be your problem then. If the tps was removed from a car it MUST be recalibrated when installed on a new car. Every single tps is different. Swapping from a car that runs does not verify that you are getting proper signal at the ECU.

No, not yet. I did pull off the timing belt cover looking for a worn down belt but it looked new to me. (no broken teeth on the belt). I guess the next thing I need to do is look in my Haynes Manual or look in the DIY section and find out how to check the cam timing.

                        timing belts rarely show age.

Really? I've seen timing belts that have developed cracked in between the teeth and small cracking signs on the outside before. Usually you have to flex the belt with the teeth on the outside to reveal any of the signs though.

so how old is a timing belt with a .200" crack in it? and how many miles do i have left? should i measure the depth of the crack, it also zig zags about 30 degrees each way.

out of experience... I was an AUDI technician for a while and their belts would look brand new, Even maintaining their part number printing on them and they would snap after 80k. the internal reinforcements of the belts can break down in the belt without showing any external indications of wear and this goes for any toothed belt... audi, honda, nissan etc. I have always gone by the philosophy of if you question it.. replace it.

Also found that the Harmonic balancer has a slight wobble. I'll get a chance to look at the car again on Saturday.
