IAB swap, but idles up and down from 1k-3k rpm! HELP!!

OK guys now I just did the IAB delete thing (h23 manifold)....now my buddy gave his old one done from his h23 manifold, all I had to do is just swap it...(remove the IAB plate with butterflies and install the one he gave me with IAB removed).

Now my thing is, is that when I did the swap, it idles from 1000rpm threw 3000rpm (up and down) I don't know what this can be.

Any of you guys can help me with this??? Im really stuck and need the car for tomorrow.....

    Thanks fellas

hmm, vacuum issue My other thought was quite possibly a bad solenoid in the IAB, or the plunger is the problem. Since vacuum created sends many pulses per second to flutter the IAB open and closed. My understanding of them is simple, that during the duty cycle since they open, and close so quickly you'd be able to see a change in idle pretty easily obviously. My guess is something with the vacuum control?

    life is good.

Hmmm, well I basiclly I removed the IAB's.....But I still don't know what can cause my idle to do this...I tightend the bolts and everything.

Well one of the IAB plate gaskets were torn a little, I think that might be my issue....what do you think?

There probably is a vacuum leak from not cleaning/sealing the surfaces up properly in this job. Check and fix that.

Your ECU is trying to compensate for the variances through the IACV, fuel control, etc.

Also, I'd reset base idle, if it is not properly set.

Did you put on a new gasket for the intake manifold? If you didn't more than likely thats your problem, either that or you got a vac leak somewhere. Hope that helps.

Cold would be FITV (adjustment), warm would be IACV, during both is prob. a vac. leak.

                  Thanks fellas I got it!
It was the IAB plate gaskets that were torn up
                  I knew I should've replaced them!

                  Thanks guys!
