ok people ive always had a knock sound slightly when reving my engine but i believe it was the exhaust and everyone tells me its fine. Until tonight i believe its a problem. i was on the highway and was taunted by a maxima and blew his doors off but when i got off the exit(at idle) my car cut off. i started it up and at idle the oil light was flickering but when i gave it a lil gas to keep the car running it went away. for a couple time it shut off at idle. i got it started and drove it home very slow at low rpms so i wouldnt do any damage since the oil light wasnt comming on at while driving only at idle. By time i got home it was even good at idle. Now i notice before and even now after getting some oil because the stick was dry causing my problem that only at 2000rpms i hear a clacking/knocking sound. i was 2 quarts low on oil and i believed i heard this sound before but it seems much louder to me now. still got the power and it still runs fine just a chutter sound at 2000rpms. any one got an idea? or do u think it might just be in my mind that i did some damage?

It's your flux capacitor. You'll need a new one.
Ok, maybe not. Being really low on oil is bad, one of those big no nos. IT could have done many things to your engine. You said that you always had a noise but people told you it was your exhaust, but if the people who told you that are incorrect, that little problem will develop into a much bigger one.
You could have a possible spun crank bearing appearing. I've see this happen. What happens is that you start off with a sound, run it out of oil, then the bearings get worn away little by little because of the lack of oil. Next you drive it normal but the bearings won't ever be the same and the potential of spinning that / those bearings are much greater. If you ever see your oil light come on, you need to shut it off immediately, and phone a friend to get you some oil. If you have to drive it to a gas station try not to put any load on it what so ever.
I really hope nothing like that will happen to you, but I've just seen it happen on my girlfriend 86 supra. Did that exact same thing, had a slight tick higher in the rpms and eventually she found out there was an oil leak and before you know it, #6 spun a bearing, wound up being a complete rebuild. New head, rod, crank, machined block, the works. It's not cool, not cool at all.Been a long time. Still alive...
