My '93 LX has developed a problem where, when I start it up (engine is freezing temperature), it has a very low idle. Within one or two seconds the idle drops and drops to the point where the car stalls.
I can easily remedy this by holding the gas down to keep the idle at about 1000rpm, and after 2 miles or so the idle is normal again. This obviously isn't critical, but it's inconvenient because sometimes I don't press the gas fast enough and the car stalls. Does anyone have suggestions as to what the problem might be?
If it's relevant, over the summer I swapped the intake manifold with that of an H23. During this process I cleaned the IAC thoroughly, bolted a plate and bypassed the piece that makes coolant flow through the throttle body, and drilled + tapped holes to access the EGR ports. Thanks.
