Well the way that you are talking I wouldnt tackle it yourself. You have to think about buying the pistons and then the machine work involved. Depending on the condition of that engine you may only need a little hone work. But you are looking at about 1000 for a rebuild. You can get a JDM F22B (same engine without a knock sensor) with a 5 speed tranny for about 1100 the last time I looked.

Yea the machine work is expensive at times unless you got friends that own or work at a machine shop. You are better off just getting you a cheap F22 from the junkyard to get you by until you can save enough money to get what you really want.

I got a running cb7 but I have the f22a1 motor and I want an h23 or should I say something with more power then 125 hp, I never messed with internal pistons searched a couple sites on how to replace but didn't find anything that helped, it can't be done by hands machinery tools need to be involved is what your telling me? Right now he wants 200$ for it dropped me 100$.

What wrong with the pistons already in it?
Shop prices will vary, but You'd be looking minimum at the cost of pistons, bore & hone, gasket set, Plus disassembly and reassembly.

If at first you don't succeed, Try again. Don't give up too easily, persistance pays off in the end.

A swap doesn't need to have the pistons replaced.
Find out whats wrong with it first before you start guessing and throwing money away.

No I mean I wanna do a h23 swap but can't swap that h23 cause of the piston problem since my car running good don't wanna swap it like that then I won't have something too drive buy well see what happens.

did the seller tell you it was a piston problem? if so, you need to figure out why he said that. did he burn one up with boost or n2o? pistons don't usually just take a dump like most parts, that sounds like a guess as to what's wrong if you ask me.

Ok I got him to lower the price to 150 sounds like a good price to and he dosent kno for sure if its the pistons and I did call a machine shop and they told me a rebuild 1000 the cheapest so if I don't wanna rebuild it is the anything off that engine that is usefull?

Ask him what the problem is, don't ask him "is it the pistons"

Find the symptom first before you start trying to diagnose it.

It's like going to a doctor and saying "theres something wrong with me" but not telling the doctor that you have a headache.
