engine help

i have a 91 honda accord, i think there might be a broken lifter or rocker.. is there any way to tell the difference?
and there is a whistleing sound coming, god help me, from the timing belt. Coult a whistle be caused by a pulley?

why u think one of them is broken?just take the valve cover out and check,and also check that all the belts are not loose or worn

how do i know if their bad ya know? i dont know alot about engine's... another thing, is there a DIY for timing belts? i know its going to be a hard thing and all but im just interested in doing it. You gotta learn somehow you know?

i'd check for a faulty water pump for that whistling sound, usually the first sign of it going besides antifreeze pissing up you block...
