aight heres tha deal. last year around july i had my engine swapped. my pops put in a f22a6, and did tha whole swap himself. so i get tha car back, and remind you itz summer time. so im using my AC and a couple of weeks of using it, tha AC stops working. so i called up my pops and told him that it stopped workin and he told me to take it somewhere to get it checked out. so i thought since winter is just around tha way, ill just wait to get it looked at. well now, yesterday when i was warmin up tha car. i went to turn on my heater, and nothing happens. i press the defrost knobby thing, and theres no orange light. i dont know if that has anything to do wit my AC or not. what do u guys think tha problem could be? i had to take my integra out because i couldnt use my defrost.

So do any of your climate controls work? Are the heater lines hooked up?Parting out 93 LX My contact email and Paypal is Accordparts@gmail.com Email me or pm me with what parts you need. Thanks!

I would check all of the fuses first. The fuse diagram is on the lid under the hood and on the inside of the cover under the dash. Check any fuse that says Heater, AC, Climate control, blower fan/motor, Defrost etc. If that doesn't do it, then it is probably just a loose electrical connector somewhere. Sometimes they will sound and feel like they snapped in, but they didn't, and since the engine was swapped, alot of the important connectors were pulled apart. If it isn't a fuse, get someone you who is knowledgeable and you trust to check it out.

If that is what it did, then it is almost certainly a connector somewhere. It could be a short, but Honda's wiring harnesses are usually pretty protected and sturdy, and if you do something to jack them up, you generally won't be confused if it hurt it or not.
1)Go into the car by the drivers side fuse box. Make sure none of the fuses wiggle in the box. Sometimes the little metal ears that hold the fuse wear out and the fuse will not make a connection all of the time. Wiggle all of the relays above the fuses and make sure they are not loose. A relay could possibly be bad, but I am going to rule that out because the lights on the control unit would still work.
2)If that doesn't work, I would try the plug on the back of the heater control unit. Yup, you have to take the dash apart... Try plugging it back in until you can hear it click. It will be a loud click, not a little quiet one. Then give it a firm push to make sure that it doesn't click again, followed by a firm pull to make sure that it doesn't come back out.
Don't put the dash back together just yet...
If that didn't work, try the following:
Did your dad change the Engine Control unit too?
If he did, I have an idea.
This issue got me awhile back. I was running stereo wire, and pulled the ECU out for access. I put it all back together and it worked fine until suddenly, my Check Engine light kept coming back on. It said I had a bad crank angle sensor, causing me to replace a perfectly good distributor. The light kept coming on. Months later, out of desperation, I pulled the carpet back up and checked all of the computer harnesses. I pushed on one and it clicked (it clicked a little when I put the car together the first time) and I never had a problem again. The ECU does have some control over your climate control functions, so it is worth a shot.
Try pulling up the floor on the passenger side and unbolting the ECU plate from the floor.
3)Unplug all of the connectors and then plug them back in. When you plug them back in, make sure they click loudly, don't go by feel. Once they click, push them just a little bit harder and make sure that they don't click again.
4)See if that helps. If it doesn't, start with the plugs under the hood right by the fuse box. There are two or three of them. They are huge and you can't miss them. Do the same thing with these.
5)Check the green plug on the alternator and make sure that it snaps in audibly as well.
If you have another climate control unit, try putting it in and see if that helps. The short could be inside your climate control unit...
If you don't have one, I would seriously consider borrowing a spare one, going to a junkyard, or getting one off of ebay, but only if the rest of this stuff doesn't work.
If you try all of this and still can't figure it out, let me know and I will try to help. Sorry it is so long, just trying to make it better. I am a skeleton covered in skin, so I know what it is like to need heat in the winter!

I was thinking about it and I thought of something else that I would like you to tell me about.
Sit in the car with the key in the II position and the engine off, so everything has power.
Push some of the vent selector buttons, defrost and then foot and then face. Finally, recirculate and then fresh.
Can you hear the electric motors moving the vents back and forth?
