Turn the key, lights go out

Like the title says.
Open the door, dome light activates, like normal.
Put the key in the ignition, turn it to position II, dash lights up, radio starts up, beeping starts since Im still not buckled. All like normal.
Turn it to III to start it up, everything goes black.
Open the hood, jiggle the positive connector, everything comes back on and I go on as usual.

This has happened sporadically over the past month, but it happened all of three times tonight. In a row. I had to take my moms Civic to blockbuster
So what could it be? Im no electrical genius, so dumb down your answers for me

clean the terminal then make sure you put it on tight. You shouldnt be able to "jiggle" the clamp

Well I dont really jiggle it, its more of a smack :P But yeah, tomorrow morning I was planning on doing that anyway. But what caused everything to suddenly go out when I turned the key past II?

isn't this the same thing that happened before to you? Yeah I remember that you left something disconected when you installed an amp! So I think this is related to your past incident.

Its definitly the ground terminal, same thing happened to me.

Clean your battery terminals and tighten them down. Make sure to put some terminal grease on the connecters.

I use to have the same problem, but its better now after cleaning up the terminals and stuff.

Well, I cleaned the terminal and BAM it works. What would I do without you guys? :P
