    F22/23 Vtec Swap

alright so for the past 4 months ive had a 92 lx in mint cond. sitting waiting till i get money and time. mean while ive been driving my h22 cb7 that has its chassis problems. any way i initially wanted to swap in another h22 to the new car but with the limitations of the cylinder walls i was maybe thinking a jdm f22/23 sohc vtec swap plus a turbo. first off and correct me if im wrong the axles should hook right up, engine should just drop in since it is a f series and all i would need is a obd2 conv. harness, and to wire in the vtec solenoid, oil pressure switch and the knock sensor. other than that is there odds and ends you need to do to get anything else hooked up? and does anyone know of someone on this thread who has swapped this motor to a cb7? much thanks.

The H22's cylinder walls aren't worthless... they're very strong and have great cooling properties. They are just not compatible with most forged pistons. Mahle Gold Series pistons are basically the only option. However, if you're going with enough boost to need beefier internals, you should resleeve regardless of the stock sleeve material.

My advice... find an F22A, boost that. It's the cheapest option, and the cheapest to replace when you eventually blow it up.

Deev, is right. The F22a has a better flowing head than a H22a and they are much more affordable to replace. And if you select the F22 over the h22, the f22a bisi turbo cams are also more affordable. More money for other things.
